In the USA he worked as a consultant psychiatrist for hospital medical, surgical and intensive care units and the US Department of Veterans Affairs, and ran dual-diagnosis programmes for alcohol and substance use. He is certified to give electroconvulsive therapy and transcranial magnetic stimulation; his interests include neuropsychiatric, mood and anxiety disorders, addictions, psychopharmacology and ketamine infusion therapy. He sees patients in person in Banjara Hills and the Financial District and online.
